Once a year Rob and I take a vacation for just the 2 of us. We do this b/c for starters we have 3 kids to take care of most days of the year so we like to be alone for a few days. We also do it because obviously 2 of the 3 kids were not born in this marriage, so when Rob and I met, we never had any time by ourselves. So when we get to take little trips, it helps us get closer and get to know more and more about each other. Also, we love the beach and let's face it, our kiddos can't sit in the sun for 6 or 8 straight hours! That would be ridiculous. Cash would be a little lobster boy b/c he is so fair skinned! And it would be insane for Camryn to be in the sun that long, and Lucas Caden could never sit still for more than a few minutes. So we take beach trips alone to enjoy some relaxation and tan!!

We had an amazing time! We got there Tuesday around noon so we had the whole day to get fried in the beautiful sunshine. Oh my gosh, if you've never been to Cancun, it is the most beautiful beach ever! The water there is like nowhere I've ever seen. It was the prettiest blue I could've ever imagined! Tuesday we hung out at the resort and then went to dinner at the resort that night. We were pretty tired since we got up at 4 a.m. that day after going to bed at midnight Monday.

Rob out playing in the waves...the water was soooo great!
This is the view from the other side of our room toward the inside of the resort.
Wednesday we lounged around the beach and pool and struck up some pool volleyball with people from all over! It was so much fun. We met a group from Liverpool who spoke English, but man their accents were strong! We also played about 15 games of volleyball with a man named Art from Jacksonville, FL. There were people playing from everywhere. It was such a blast. Wednesday night we went out to a nice restaurant called Lorenzillo's. It was a steak and seafood place, and it was fabulous! We went to bed early that night b/c Thursday we had to get up early for our adventure at XPlore!

Xplore is quite possible the coolest adventure type place EVER! It was awesome. It had 15 ziplines, 3 of which you land in sinkholes with water, a waterslide, a canoe ride underground with stalagtites and stalagmites, and a swim underground with the same. It was freaking awesome! Unfortunately we couldn't take our camera b/c it's not a water camera, and our guy that we bought the tickets from said he'd bring his waterproof camera for us. Well, of course, he didn't show up with it and said his wife broke it. Whatever dude, he just forgot it! But oh well, it was absolutely fabulous either way. So that night we went to the mall and messed around there for a little while. It was a beautiful mall with the Bay on the backside of it. We ate at a little Mexican place called Mr. Papa's. It was delicious!

After a long and exciting day Thursday we decided to just chill on the beach Friday. Rob rented a jet ski and rode it for a while, but mostly we just laid out and enjoyed the beautiful beach and fabulous weather. We did squeeze in the occasional volleyball game but mostly just relaxed. So we were all rested up to go out that night. We took the bus and went downtown to do a little flea market shopping and bargaining! It was so much fun. Then we bought our tickets to make the night club rounds at 3 places. We went back to the hotel and got ready but were starving. So we threw on some clothes and went across the road to Bubba Gump Shrimp to eat. After we ate, we headed back to the hotel and I was fixing my hair while Rob waited on me to finish getting ready. So about 45 minutes later, hair fixed...we decided we were too tired to go! That's right, we are losers! Well actually, we just value a full night's sleep a lot more than going to the bars in Cancun I guess. So we wasted money on tickets, but boy did we sleep good :) It was quite hilarious really b/c we had talked about going out all week, but just couldn't muster up the energy to do it.

MARIACHIS!!
So Saturday brought our last day of the trip. We played a little more volleyball and soaked up the last bit of Cancun sun we will get for at least a year. I'm telling you what, this was the most fabulous vacation! The Royal Cancun is 2nd to none for a place to stay. It was phenomenal! We had a better time than we could've imagined! It was absolutely wonderful. Don't get me wrong, I was missing my babies, but I sure enjoyed time with my amazing husband! So now we're back home and back to the real world....gotta go to work tomorrow, but I'm revived and ready to get back after it!
Let me tell you the most awesome thing that happened on this trip and that was me reading a book called 'Heaven is for Real.' It is about a young boy and his family and his trip to heaven. Let me tell you it has rocked my soul thinking about the things that boy says happened to him. Read it if you get a chance. It will get to you. I thank God for the amazing life I am blessed with and for the opportunity to live with and love my family. I tell you what, I am not deserving of any of the things I've been blessed with but I do my best to cherish each of them. This life is something to enjoy and be thankful for and I try my best to do that each day. God is so great! Make sure you let him know that :)
Oh and let me just say that Mike and Angie Medlock are the best 2 people I could've ever asked for to be my parents! They kept Camryn the entire time we were gone and the boys part of the time. There are no 2 better people in this world that my kids could call Nain and Papa or I could call mom and dad! Life is something to be cherished, I tell ya!
Good night :)
