Just to catch up

It's funny how now that I'm not working I still feel super busy.  I can't believe I'm not blogging like every day or 2, but I just find a million things to do.  So just a brief update on our fabulous life here in the Waters house.  I'm still on the job hunt, but nothing has come up so far.  Oh well, in the mean time I am sure playing a lot of tennis!!  And spending a lot of time with the kiddos!  Tuesdays we have started going to the library with my friend Jessica and her son Will for story time and then lunch and play dates after.  It's been a lot of fun!

I was trying to do a better job of cooking at home the last few weeks since Caden is in school now and all, but I've not done too well this week. In fact, we are going to Merle's steak house tonight with my parents.  Hopefully it'll be good b/c we need a new place to eat!

Rob and I had a date night Saturday so that was a lot of fun.  We went to 21 West End with Kim and Brandon and had a great time.  I laughed so hard at those 2.  They give each other so much crap and it's just hilarious!

Caden is having such a great time in kindergarten!  His teacher says he is a very sweet boy and doing just great so I am so proud of him.  I had lunch with him the other day and almost cried the whole time b/c I just love him so much and can't believe how big he is!  He is so precious and so special :)

Cash is doing great as well!  He and Camryn are staying home with me at least 2 days a week now.  He has been sooo good!  He is really growing up and taking on the big brother role when Caden isn't around!  He's such a sweetie and has really been mommy's boy lately.  Believe me I am LOVING it!!

Camryn is such a little stinker!  She is the sweetest little doll in the world!  I am so so so happy that Rob and I had such a precious little angel!  She is starting to give kisses all the time and say thank you for everything and even thinking about potty training!  What a mess! She is the  best little girl in the whole world and we are crazy about her!!

I am gonna post some pics later, but am out of time for now.

Waters Fam Week

What a week! My big boy has started kindergarten. It seems so crazy to me that he can be that big. He has already become crazy independent in only 3 days. He is really having a great time. His teacher seems fabulous! He is so active, and the fact that he hasn't gotten in any trouble yet is HUGE to me! I'm super pleased with how things have gone. I love taking him and picking him up every day. It's so sweet to see him at the end of the day when he's all excited to tell me about his day. He runs up to me and jumps into my arms for a big hug and it is wonderful! I'm gonna do a post about him hopefully Sunday on how much he's grown and pictures through the years.

But for now...here's an update on the rest of our lives. We have bought a paint horse for the kids to ride....to go along with the 2 goats, puppy and kitty we have acquired as well. We are basically a full fledged farm! But we are sure enjoying it. The kids LOVE the animals. They are having so much fun riding the horse.

So this week since Caden has started school, we've worked hard at trying to get the kids to bed a little earlier since we have to be up pretty early. So each night we are limiting our activites to about an hour to hour and a half. During the summer, we pretty much spent like 3 or 4 hours each night either playing outside, swimming, or doing something. Not much time just sitting inside. So Tuesday night we rode the horse, Wednesday night we swam at mom and dad's then took a canoe ride, and tonight we played out in the backyard on the playground and rode bikes. It's been a really smooth week considering we are transitioning into kindergarten and the boys not being together all day. I mean Tuesday was the first day since March 15, 2007 (AKA when Cash was born) that they have not spent all day together.

I know I'm not a perfect wife, mom, or anything of the sort, but I sure love my family so very much!  I love these kids like I could never have imagined, and I am so proud of them.  Sometimes I find it hard to believe that in only one year I will have 2 kids in school.  I cannot believe they are that big...and that I am that OLD!!  Ha :)  Camryn will really seem like the baby then when she is the only one who stays home with me during the day.  She will be major spoiled!  Yikes!

I am also so very thankful to have the most wonderful, amazing husband to help me out in this journey.  We have been so very very blessed with a wonderful life that I know I'm not near deserving of.  I think that's maybe why I appreciate it so much....because I never thought life could or would be this great!  I thank God for giving me so many amazing gifts and entrusting them in my care.  Ok, this is getting heavy...enough!  Have a great day and I will blog more this weekend!

CALI 2011 part 2

So after Saturday night we crashed at the apartment. Sunday we got ready and headed to Del Mar racetrack. That place is enormous!! It's like as big as the town of Mulberry. Seriously...huge! So we watched a couple races then went into the infield where they had bounce arounds, pony rides, face painting and all kinds of stuff. It was a lot of fun!

After Del Mar, we went back to the hotel and rested up b/c Monday it was time for LEGOLAND!!  Let me tell ya, that place is heavenly for kids about 6 and under.  They have a huge pirate ship there that's like a mini water park.  It was so much fun!  The boys loved it.  And they even have a few rides there that Camryn was big enough to ride.  So all in all it was a major success going to Legoland!!

We spent most of Monday at Legoland, and finished up the evening with dinner at an Italian restaurant downtown.  It was delicious, and the kids were so good!  When they're hungry, they always behave at dinner :)

Tuesday we had a wonderful day!  We went to the beach at Coronado Island.  What a beautiful place.  It was only about 5 or 10 minutes from the apartment, but it was the highest bridge I have ever driven on.  Honestly, I was about half scared driving across it.  It's pretty narrow with 2 lanes and a very short guard rail.  I was not liking it!  But anyway, the beach was a lot of fun!  I kinda think it was the kids favorite thing!

What a fun, wonderful time!  I'm gonna go ahead and upload this so I don't lose all of it.  I will finish up the rest of the week tomorrow b/c I'm sleepy!!

CALI 2011

If you ever read my blog, you are probably wondering why I haven't written anything in over 2 weeks.  Well, I have tried like 3 times to blog on the California trip.  But I think what's happening is that I'm writing for a long time and uploading a ton of pictures and it's timing out b/c I'm logged in forever!  So I'm going to break the trip down into 2 or 3 blog entries so that I can finally get it put on here.  I think there are all of about 5 people that will see this so enjoy.

On Thursday July 21 we left FS for OKC to catch our plane at 6:15.  Unfortunately it was delayed for many many hours, so we were stuck at the airport with the kiddos.  Poor babies.  All things considered they were very good.  We were to connect in Denver then onto San Diego.  Well, of course we missed our connection by like 8 minutes and had to spend the night in Denver.  We finally got to a hotel about 25 minutes from the airport around 1 a.m.  Then we had to get up at 6 to catch the bus back to the airport in order to make our flight....which was of course re-routed to Orange County!  Ugh!!!  Thankfully Chip (Jess's sweet thang) was able to come pick us up.  The kids got in a short nap on the way to the apartment.

The adults did not get the luxury of a nap, but we survived.  We ordered pizza and ate at their apartment.  After lunch we went and checked into our hotel. We stayed at the Embassy Suites in La Jolla which was about 10 mins from Jess and Chip's apartment.  So after check in we decided to lay everyone down for a nap.  Mostly b/c Rob and I were seriously about to fall out from exhaustion!  We all slept for about 2 hours!  Got up and headed back the apartment to see Jess!!  Woohoo!!

We ordered Phil's bbq for dinner.  They have little grilled chicken pieces there called chicken ticklers...seriously ticklers!  Jess and I got the biggest kick out of that.  We thought it was hysterical!  Anyway, after dinner, Jess and I headed to the airport to pick up mom and dad.  Boy were they surprised when we showed up in this bad boy!

That's right...Rob upgraded us to a Hummer!  We had a lot of fun driving it around for a week.  So after picking them up we ate cupcakes and then headed to the hotel for bed.

Saturday brought on Sea World for the WHOLE family!  Rob, me and the kids got there around 9 a.m.  Our first order of business was the Shamu show.  I love watching the amazing things the whales can do.  We had been to Sea World San Antonio before when I was pregnant with Camryn and the boys were pretty young.  So this trip was totally different b/c we had all 3 kids, and the boys were quite a bit older.

So that's a VERY BRIEF synopsis of our day in pictures.  The Waters family lasted from 9 til 7 that night.  Mom, Dad, Jess and Chip made it from about 11 til 4:30.  Not bad considering they had no kids or anything.  It was so much fun!!  Which is why we went back 2 more times!!

So needless to say we were exhaused that night.  But Jess and Chip had already made reservations at a nice restaurant in downtown SD for that night for the 4 of us.  So mom and dad came and spent the night with the boys.  We had dinner and then went across the street to a club.  I was really tired and didn't want to go b/c there were 2 lines, each with about 100 people in them going in 2 different directions of people waiting to get in.  So my husband walks straight up to the bouncer and says "Ty said when I come in town that I can get in here."   To which the bouncer says, "Dave and Terry own this place."  Rob--"So what, you're telling me Ty doesn't have any clout here anymore?"  And then 2 bouncers later and the 4 of us walk right in!  It was so crazy!  Obviously Ty doesn't exist but Rob got us in on that line of crap. Hilarious!! And about 10 minutes after we got in, Rob looks over Jess's shoulder and says, "isn't that David Arquette?" What!! It sure was!   Here he is in the back in the denim shirt.

So anyway...I will finish up on the next post.  Don't wanna lose all my hard work!
