If you ever read my blog, you are probably wondering why I haven't written anything in over 2 weeks. Well, I have tried like 3 times to blog on the California trip. But I think what's happening is that I'm writing for a long time and uploading a ton of pictures and it's timing out b/c I'm logged in forever! So I'm going to break the trip down into 2 or 3 blog entries so that I can finally get it put on here. I think there are all of about 5 people that will see this so enjoy.
On Thursday July 21 we left FS for OKC to catch our plane at 6:15. Unfortunately it was delayed for many many hours, so we were stuck at the airport with the kiddos. Poor babies. All things considered they were very good. We were to connect in Denver then onto San Diego. Well, of course we missed our connection by like 8 minutes and had to spend the night in Denver. We finally got to a hotel about 25 minutes from the airport around 1 a.m. Then we had to get up at 6 to catch the bus back to the airport in order to make our flight....which was of course re-routed to Orange County! Ugh!!! Thankfully Chip (Jess's sweet thang) was able to come pick us up. The kids got in a short nap on the way to the apartment.
The adults did not get the luxury of a nap, but we survived. We ordered pizza and ate at their apartment. After lunch we went and checked into our hotel. We stayed at the Embassy Suites in La Jolla which was about 10 mins from Jess and Chip's apartment. So after check in we decided to lay everyone down for a nap. Mostly b/c Rob and I were seriously about to fall out from exhaustion! We all slept for about 2 hours! Got up and headed back the apartment to see Jess!! Woohoo!!
We ordered Phil's bbq for dinner. They have little grilled chicken pieces there called chicken ticklers...seriously ticklers! Jess and I got the biggest kick out of that. We thought it was hysterical! Anyway, after dinner, Jess and I headed to the airport to pick up mom and dad. Boy were they surprised when we showed up in this bad boy!
That's right...Rob upgraded us to a Hummer! We had a lot of fun driving it around for a week. So after picking them up we ate cupcakes and then headed to the hotel for bed.
Saturday brought on Sea World for the WHOLE family! Rob, me and the kids got there around 9 a.m. Our first order of business was the Shamu show. I love watching the amazing things the whales can do. We had been to Sea World San Antonio before when I was pregnant with Camryn and the boys were pretty young. So this trip was totally different b/c we had all 3 kids, and the boys were quite a bit older.
So that's a VERY BRIEF synopsis of our day in pictures. The Waters family lasted from 9 til 7 that night. Mom, Dad, Jess and Chip made it from about 11 til 4:30. Not bad considering they had no kids or anything. It was so much fun!! Which is why we went back 2 more times!!
So needless to say we were exhaused that night. But Jess and Chip had already made reservations at a nice restaurant in downtown SD for that night for the 4 of us. So mom and dad came and spent the night with the boys. We had dinner and then went across the street to a club. I was really tired and didn't want to go b/c there were 2 lines, each with about 100 people in them going in 2 different directions of people waiting to get in. So my husband walks straight up to the bouncer and says "Ty said when I come in town that I can get in here." To which the bouncer says, "Dave and Terry own this place." Rob--"So what, you're telling me Ty doesn't have any clout here anymore?" And then 2 bouncers later and the 4 of us walk right in! It was so crazy! Obviously Ty doesn't exist but Rob got us in on that line of crap. Hilarious!! And about 10 minutes after we got in, Rob looks over Jess's shoulder and says, "isn't that David Arquette?" What!! It sure was! Here he is in the back in the denim shirt.
So anyway...I will finish up on the next post. Don't wanna lose all my hard work!
